A complete baseline profile for households supplied by municipal or treated mains water including essentials PFAS screen.

Product Description

Municipal water is treated and regulated, yet its condition at the tap can vary depending on infrastructure age, plumbing materials, disinfectant dosing, and distribution systems meanwhile PFAS removal is years away.

Many households come to us with a simple question:

“What is actually coming out of my tap  and what should I do about it?”

This bundled Essentials analysis provides a practical baseline understanding of your household water, including emerging contaminants.

What’s Included

The test suite includes:

1. Core Water Chemistry & Mineral Balance

Overall behaviour, balance, and treatment condition of supplied water

  • pH
  • Calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Sodium
  • Potassium
  • Alkalinity

These indicators help interpret scaling potential, corrosion risk, and compatibility with household plumbing and appliances.

2. Household Metals Profile

Screens for 17 trace heavy metals that can sit unnoticed in households for years, including plumbing, health and treatment/environmental indicators:

  • Lead
  • Copper
  • Nickel
  • Zinc
  • Iron
  • Manganese
  • Chromium
  • Arsenic
  • Cadmium
  • Mercury
  • Selenium
  • Uranium
  • Barium
  • Antimony
  • Aluminium
  • Boron
  • Molybdenum

3. Disinfection & Fluoride Indicators

Relevant to municipal treatment processes and user comfort preferences

  • Total Chlorine
  • Fluoride

These values help describe treatment residuals at the point of use and are frequently referenced when households evaluate filtration options.

4. PFAS Essentials Screening

Targeted analysis for commonly detected PFAS compounds in drinking water:

  • PFOS
  • PFOA
  • PFHxS
  • 6:2 Fluorotelomer Sulfonic Acid
  • 8:2 Fluorotelomer Sulfonic Acid

Often referred to as “forever chemicals,” PFAS are persistent environmental compounds that do not readily break down. Testing provides visibility into their presence so households can make informed decisions about filtration or monitoring. Results are evaluated against current Australian guideline references where available.

What you get:

  • Official Certificate of Analysis from a NATA-Accredited Laboratory
  • Plain-English Results Summary interpreting findings against guideline values
  • Guidance on filtration, treatment, or monitoring options aligned to your results
  • Data suitable for establishing future comparison baselines
Who This Test Is For

Who this test is best suited for:

  • Households connected to town or city mains supply
  • New homeowners wanting a first-time water profile
  • Families considering filtration or softening systems
  • Individuals sensitive to taste, chlorine, or mineral balance
  • Property owners assessing plumbing or scaling conditions
  • Households wanting PFAS visibility alongside standard testing
  • Properties near industrial, landfill, or training-ground environments

Standards-Based Reporting

Indicators are evaluated using nationally recognised guideline references to support informed household decision-making.

What this test helps you understand:

  • General chemical behaviour of your household water
  • Mineral balance influencing scaling or corrosion
  • Presence of trace metals associated with plumbing interaction
  • Disinfection residual levels at point of use
  • Presence of selected PFAS compounds
  • Whether treatment or filtration adjustments may be worth considering

For many households this test provides sufficient clarity to guide filtration selection or establish a monitoring baseline.

Delivery

Testing performed by NATA-Accredited laboratories typical turnaround is 5–7 business days. Expedited processing available where required.

Good to Know
  • Results reflect water condition at time of sampling
  • Municipal systems adjust treatment periodically
  • Household plumbing can influence outcomes
  • Proper sample handling is required for validity
  • Results inform understanding and decision-making only

This test focuses on core chemistry, metals, and treatment indicators and selected PFAS compounds.

It does not assess:

  • Microbial contamination
  • Agricultural chemicals
  • Pesticides or herbicides

If your situation involves private supply, environmental exposure concerns, or specific risk factors, expanded testing options are available. Please contact us support@mywaterscore.com.au
