What This Test Covers
This test targets the PFAS compounds most commonly detected in drinking water, focusing on those most likely to be present and most relevant to potential health risk. Results are delivered through a certified laboratory with low detection limits, giving a clear, high-confidence view of PFAS.
This Test Detects:
1. PFAS Sulfonic Acids (PFSAs) – highly persistent, build up over time
PFBS, PFPeS, PFHxS, PFHpS, PFOS, PFNS, PFDS, PFDoS, PFPrS
Long-lasting PFAS that can accumulate in the human body and environment.
2. PFAS Carboxylic Acids (PFCAs) – widespread across water sources
PFBA, PFPeA, PFHxA, PFHpA, PFOA, PFNA, PFDA, PFUnDA, PFDoDA, PFTrDA, PFTeDA, PFHxDA, PFODA
Common in drinking water; shorter-chain compounds move easily through water, while longer-chain types can accumulate over time.
3. Sulfonamides & Precursors – transform into regulated PFAS
FOSA, FOSAA, MeFOSA, EtFOSA, MeFOSE, EtFOSE, MeFOSAA, EtFOSAA
“Precursor” compounds that break down into more persistent PFAS like PFOS.
4. Fluorotelomer Compounds – widely used, degrade into PFAS
4:2 FTS, 6:2 FTS, 8:2 FTS, 10:2 FTS, 6:2 FTA, 6:2 FTAB
Found in firefighting foams and coatings; can convert into other PFAS over time.
5. Emerging / Replacement PFAS – newer, less understood
HFPO-DA (GenX), ADONA, PFECHS
Modern alternatives to legacy PFAS; less studied but still persistent in the environment.
This test is specifically designed to assess PFAS contamination.
